How BuyNew.co.nz handles account, organisation, enquiry, analytics, and support information for the Canterbury new-build marketplace.
For signed-in buyers, we keep a record of pages and listings viewed, completed searches and filter changes, saves, comparisons, enquiries and profile updates. This activity history and interest analysis operate by default. Authorized BuyNew owners, operations staff and support staff can review recorded usage to provide support and understand which homes and areas interest you. Suppliers cannot access this history. Detailed browsing history is retained for 12 calendar months; observed interests use the most recent 30 days and are kept separate from preferences you explicitly confirm. We do not record keystrokes, unfinished form text or session replays, or infer your income, deposit, creditworthiness or mortgage eligibility. You can contact support to request access, correction, restriction or deletion. Existing recorded restrictions continue to apply.
Google sign-in does not subscribe you to BuyNew news or mailing lists. You can explicitly subscribe or unsubscribe in your profile. Newsletter choices are separate from account access, enquiry delivery and activity processing. We keep consent evidence while a subscription is active and for up to 24 months after withdrawal, and retain a minimal suppression record while the source email address remains in our systems so older records cannot subscribe you again.
We collect account details, saved homes, saved searches, enquiries, browsing signals, and consent records so you can shortlist new builds and named organisations can respond to qualified enquiries.
We process business, brand, inventory, media, contact, account, usage, moderation, billing, and support data to create, operate, secure, and improve supplier workspaces; publish and manage listings; handle enquiries, billing, moderation, and support; and promote the BuyNew marketplace and supplier listings. Business content can be public, while personal information remains protected by this policy and applicable law.
When a supplier provides its official website, we may collect business, brand, inventory, and media information indirectly from that official site. We keep source and last-checked details, distinguish public information from supplier-provided content, and do not treat public availability as proof of media ownership or supplier acceptance.
When you use BuyNew.co.nz, including without an account, we automatically collect pseudonymous browser identifiers, advertising click identifiers, request IP address and browser user agent, and website interaction data such as page and listing views, searches, saves, enquiries, registration or login milestones, device and browser details, referring pages, and timestamps. We use this information to operate and improve the marketplace, understand demand and conversion, measure advertising, build audiences, and show or optimise relevant advertising.
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API. BuyNew.co.nz may send Meta a hashed pseudonymous identifier, Meta first-party browser and advertising click identifiers, request IP address, browser user agent, event type, page URL, listing or development identifier and category, and event time. We do not send enquiry messages, names, phone numbers, email addresses, or free-text search terms in these website-event payloads. Meta may combine the information with data it already holds to provide advertising delivery, measurement, audience, optimisation, and reporting services. Meta and its providers may process this information outside New Zealand under their own terms and privacy controls.
This collection applies when you continue to use the public website, whether or not you create an account. Browser settings and content blockers may limit cookie-based tracking but may not stop server-side measurement. You can use Meta's advertising controls and contact BuyNew.co.nz support about access, correction, or deletion where we can reasonably identify the information. We retain event-delivery records only for the operational period needed to send, verify, secure, and troubleshoot them, then delete them under our retention controls. We do not sell personal information.
If ownership of BuyNew.co.nz changes, personal information can transfer only under the promises in this policy, applicable law, and the same limits on organisation sharing, consent records, and privacy-safe aggregate reporting.
When you send an enquiry, we collect your contact details and share them with the named organisation so it can respond. We keep a record of the enquiry and may use your details to create or update your BuyNew account. If you add profile details after signing in, we may add them to that enquiry record. Optional email marketing remains separate from website interaction measurement and advertising described above.
New Zealand privacy rights can include access to and correction of personal information. Supplier users can update their business content through workspace controls. Contact BuyNew.co.nz support to review, correct, or delete account information where deletion is available. We retain information while an account operates and as reasonably needed for legal, security, billing, audit, and support purposes.
BuyNew.co.nz is designed to respect New Zealand privacy expectations, including access and correction rights under the Privacy Act 2020. Operational retention, fraud prevention, billing, audit logs, and legal obligations may affect what can be changed or deleted.
